BACKGROUNDS
Character backgrounds are chosen using the BACKGROUND command and reflect the origin and playstyle of your character. Backgrounds offer innate skills that you would have learned prior to beginning your life as a colonist, and advanced backgrounds can be unlocked by completing other background prerequisites and using the reroll command.
Note that you never have to complete a background if you want to change backgrounds, you can simply reroll with no penalties.
