Player Help Archive:
All help articles available in-game via the 'help' command are displayed here. This list is frequently appended so if a wanted topic does not exist it is suggested that an in-game mail is sent to the *ideas board suggesting what topic is needed.Help on mail:
You might have seen a message something like this at some point:
'You have received new mail (2) from Gilmore.'
To read your mail, type '@nn' for your next unread message. If you'd like to read over old mail, try '@mail', then '@peek
To send a message, simply '@qsend playername Hey man whats up? You owe me $5000 asshole!'. To send a message of multiple lines, '@send playername', hit return, then type your message. When you're done, type '.' on a line by itself. @qsend (short for @quicksend) also allows you to send a message of multiple lines if used the same way.
There are many mailing lists you can subscribe to as well. To subscribe to any list, just '@subscribe *listname'. All mailing lists accessible to you can be listed using the '@subscribe' command with no parameters.
Now whenever you '@nn', if you don't have any new personal mail, you'll read the next message on one of your lists. If you don't feel like reading through all of a list, simply '@skip *listname'. If you're tired of a list, '@unsubscribe *listname'. '@mail on *list' and '@peek
Popular lists include:
- '*changelog-public' - *clp for short. Admins post gamesystem changes here.
- '*chatter' - Player-writable. Any chatter and off-topic fluff that don't fit anywhere else go here.
- '*comedy' - Player-writable. Funny occurences.
- '*bugs' - Players send bugs here; admins hopefully fix em.
- '*ideas' - Players send ideas here; admins hopefully make em.
- '*typos' - Players send typographical errors or misspellings here. Don't forget to attach the object where the error resides.
- '*gr' - Players send game balance issues here.
- '*qna' - A place to ask all your questions about the game/gameplay.
- '*er' - Player-writable but not player-readable, you can send reports about exploits here and the admins will fix them.
Most of these lists also let you vote for posts you like/hate -- '@yes 123 on *ideas', or '@no 4456 on *comedy'.
For advanced mail topics, like message sequences, voting, and commenting, read 'help mail2'.
For any more mail commands, like removing or forwarding mail, see 'help mail-index'.
'REMEMBER TO TURN ON MAILNET!' Mailnet is for tracking new posts, comments, and votes across all (or at least most) of the mailing lists. Just type 'mailnet on' and it will begin telling you everything. Unlike other nets, you cannot chat on mailnet.
