Player Help Archive:

All help articles available in-game via the 'help' command are displayed here. This list is frequently appended so if a wanted topic does not exist it is suggested that an in-game mail is sent to the *ideas board suggesting what topic is needed.

Help on mail2:

Some mailing lists have added voting, commenting, and other features. This includes *bugs, *ideas, and even *comedy.

Commands to use on these lists, which you will recognize by the extra information in the headers of each post (vote counts, for instance):
* '@yes on ' .............. vote yes (+1) on a post
* '@no on ' ................ vote no (-1) on a post
* '@comment on ' ........... add a comment to a post
* '@attach on '
... attach a reference of an object to a post, e.g. for bug reporting

To see votes and comments on these mailing lists as they happen, just type 'mailnet on' to start receiving notifications. To turn it off, just type 'mailnet off'. 'mailnet history' also works just like on any other net.

There is also a way to read specific sets of messages, instead of single messages or groups. In every command where you'd usually put a message number, you can put what are called 'message sequence keywords':
* 'from:playername' .. messages only from player named playername.
* 'subject:text' ..... messages with text in the subject line
* 'body:text' ........ messages with text in the message body
* 'before:date' ...... only messages sent before date
* 'after:date' ....... only messages sent after date
* 'since:date' ....... messages on or after date
* 'until:date' ....... messages before or on date
* 'last:n' ........... only the last n messages

When searching by date, you may specify "today", "yesterday", "lastweek", "lastmonth", "lastyear", or a specific date. Dates must be specified in the format DD-MMM-YYYY (examples: 9-Sep-2010, 18-Feb-2004).

For voting / status-tracking lists, there are more:
* 'comment:text' ....... messages with text in a comment
* 'minvotes:n' ......... messages with at least n total votes
* 'minscore:n' ......... messages with score (plus - minus) n or more
* 'type:sometype' ...... messages that are some type
* 'type:notsometype' ... all messages that aren't some type
* 'status:somestatus' .. messages that are some status
* 'status:notx' ........ all messages that aren't x
* 'assigned:admin' ..... messages assigned to that admin
(use 'none' for unassigned)

You can even combine these keywords for complex results. Examples:
* '@read last:10 on *ideas' -- see the last 10 messages on *ideas
* '@read last:100 minscore:3 on *ideas' -- out of the last 100 messages on *ideas, show me only those with a score of 3 or greater.
* '@mail status:implemented on *ideas' -- see a list of *ideas that are implemented.
* '@mail status:open body:hamburger from:me on *bug' -- see messages on *bugs that are from me, Open status, and mention hamburger.
