Medicine, Healing and Diseases
Given the dangers presented by living in the relative wilderness of the colonial reaches, it is likely that you will come across some source of injury or disease during your travels.
When you are injured you should find a source of healing, most commonly in the form of direct healing such as bandages or health injectors. Bandages and health injectors provide steady healing, but health injectors will also provide an instant health recovery through the use of nanoscale medical technology, both of these types of treatment can be easily bought from central complex in first aid or trauma kits. You can also produce your own bandages but keep in mind that bandages made from more advanced materials will provide better healing, and a higher quality bandage will provide better healing than a lesser quality bandage.
Bleeding and Burns:
Should you suffer slashing or bullet injuries it is likely you will suffer bleeding as a result and you will lose health steadily over time (the bleeding will also subside over time however), this can be remedied using a bandage which removes bleeding on each 'tick' of healing with more bleeding being stemmed by higher quaity bandages or those of better materials, or even via coagulant drug injectors which quickly stem bleeding and prevent further bleeding whilst the drug is in your bloodstream.
Burns can be suffered as a result of being injured by thermal, plasma or laser damage and will cause reductions in your maximum dice pools and dice pool recovery, they will heal naturally over time but are most easily remedied using salves or burn patches which are available at central complex in first aid kits, though if you are without medical supplies then a salve made of fungi will work in a pinch. Some top-of-the-range health injectors also carry nanoscale treatment for burns.
Diseases and Poisons:
Even in this day and age diseases and other ailments can strike the strongest of colonies and it is wise to keep disease and antitoxin treatments on hand when travelling into areas rich in life as they are likely rich in microscopic life and poisonous creatures too. Azocillin and antitoxin injectors are available in toxin kits in central complex and omni-vaccine injectors are also available to provide more long-term resistance to native diseases.
