Sector Centers and Civilians
A Sector center is a hub of colony activity, determining where civilian colonists arrive and where they will remain. As the name suggests, the center provides some degree of control over the local sector (which is determined by the size of the planet) and some civilian colonists will wander this area performing various duties.
The Sector center bears a number of sensors and cameras that are capable of recognising aggressive activity and will warn civilians about attacks, they will be instructed to man any turrets constructed nearby or take shelter in the sector center (which is a relatively robustly-built construction). Sector center guards will attack any attackers themselves with their hand weapons.
The colonists that live at the sector center an be asked to follow you, where they will assist you if you get attacked. You can also hire them into your crew using the crew commands.
The sector center houses a governor's office in which you can perform various administrative activities involving the colony and view information about the colony and the surrounding area. Commands are as follows:
* 'CITIZENS' / 'CIVILIANS' / 'POPULATION' : Lists all civilian colonists residing at the sector center, their jobs, the tax they pay and their location.
* 'EXILE' : Exiles a civilian from the sector center, permenantly evicting them from the colony. Civilians lost this way will take any equipment you have given to them with them.
* 'GOVERN' : Allows you to transfer the control of the sector center to another party, this can be another player or a faction.
* 'DEFENSE' : Manages sector defense (currently non-functional).
* 'SECTORMAP' : Provides a map readout of the sector displaying the location and density of buildings.
* 'CONSTRUCTION' / 'BUILDING' : Manages the construction rights of the colony, Civilian construction rights determine whether civilian buildings (such as grocery stores) can be constructed in the locality, Commercial construction rights determine whether corporate giants can construct factories or offices in the locality.
* 'BUILDINGS' : Provides a list of buildings in the locality of the sector center, their location and how much credit income they provide.
* 'RESOURCES' : Provides an approximate readout of the resources available in the locality of the sector center (a 3x3 area centered on the sector center).
* 'COLONY' : Provides a readout of the ratings given by the buildings in the locality of the sector center and the resultant number of colonists the colony can support.
* 'EVENTS' / 'HISTORY' : Provides a readout of events occuring at the colony, if a colonist dies or building is destroyed a diagnostic message will be recorded, if a building is constructed then a message will be recorded. Other events such as colonist arrival or attacks on colonists are recorded too.
* 'ROLLCALL' / 'ROLL' : Calls all colonists to the sector center where they will wait for a few minutes, allowing you to provide them with equipment or medical attention.
* 'ASSIGN' / 'JOBS' : Allows you to assign jobs to untrained civilian colonists (currently non-functional).
