Colonists have three weapon slots:
* melee
Melee weapons tend towards heavy damage but common damage types. Often attacks are slow.
* ranged
Ranged weapons can vary from slow firing rocket launchers to rapid firing beam pistols.
* special
The special weapon category covers items that require signficant operator attention, such as mediguns or specialized harvesting tools.
Weapons can be purchased in the central gear shop, found or awarded, or crafted from the equipment tools.
